GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•       Document sessions and events.

•       Produce weekly segments

•       Manage video channels on Radio Milwaukee YouTube and website

•       Produce behind the scenes, event promotions and re-cap videos

•       Works with Community Stories department in the field to add video to select stories

•       Add robust photography to website to accompany Stories

•       Produces photo & video slideshows to enhance on-air coverage and create media point opportunities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

•       Advanced video and photo production and editing skills.

•       The ability to work quickly and meet deadlines. 

•       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

•       Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others.

•       Understands the culture and community of Radio Milwaukee’s target market. 

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:

•       2 or more years experience in broadcast or digital media

•       2 or more years experience in video editing software

•       Bachelor’s degree preferred

Position: Assistant Audio Producer - Community Stories

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Assistant Audio Producer will report directly to the Managing Producer, in developing weekly Community Stories.  Primary duties include gathering, writing, editing, and producing two (2) feature audio pieces weekly; in addition to editing other audio content for the programming department.  As a key member of the Programming department, the Assistant Audio Producer collaborates with all departments to forward Radio Milwaukee’s programming mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•       Produces two Community Stories per week

•       Conducts interviews to contribute to Community Stories

•       Posts Stories and other multi-media content to Radio Milwaukee’s website

•       Works with Managing Producer on long-form projects and edits supplemental audio for website

•       Generates story ideas and works with Managing Producer to vision coverage

•       Converts web coverage into on-air capsules and media-point teases

•       Works with programming for special audio editing needs, including promotional recordings and station IDs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

•       Multi track production capabilities, focused on Protools and Adobe Audition.

•       Basic production writing skills.

•       Ability to conduct prepared interviews on a wide variety of topics.

•       The ability to paint audio pictures with words, music, and sound effects.

•       The ability to work quickly and meet deadlines. 

•       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

•       Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others.

•       Understands the culture and community of Radio Milwaukee’s target market.

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:

•       2 or more years experience in radio or broadcast media

•       2 or more years experience in audio editing DAW software

•       Experience with Broadcast, Blog, Editorial and  AP style writing

•       Bachelor’s degree preferred
