Today we celebrate one of music's unsung heroes. Donald "Duck" Dunn passed away on Sunday at the age of 70. Dunn was best known as the bassist for Booker T and The MGs. He also laid down bass lines for musical greats like Tom Petty, Herbie Mann, Otis Redding and even Bill Withers.
When I think of Donald "Duck" Dunn, I immediately think of the Blue Brothers. Dunn was the bassist in the Blues Brothers Show Band and Revue. I always think of Duck smoking his pipe while laying down the groove to "Time is Tight."
Many soul and R&B groups have covered this track, but I was surprised to find that in 1980 the Clash covered this R&B staple...
