For the first annual Taste MKE hosted by Horny Goat Hideaway we all got a taste of spring, which obviously means beer, good company, and food trucks.

Although the wind wasn’t in our favor that didn’t stop the preparation of good food with some local tunes in the background.

With over ten food trucks to choose from there was endless possibilities. Local favorites, The Gouda Girls brought their award winning Roma sandwich; roasted Roma Tomatoes with Parmesan, butter, and Penzeys Seasonings, Mozzarella Cheese and Asiago all on Italian bread.  Even someone who doesn’t fancy tomatoes would find love with every bite.

However if you weren’t feeling something cheesy I may have to ask what’s wrong with you? But of course you didn’t have to worry because you could walk ten steps to your right and you have tacos, to be more clear tacos from The Fast Foodie.  The spice you needed in your life, specifically the Jamaican me crazy tacos; Jamaican Curried Beef and Rice with enough Scotch Bonnet hot sauce to heart up your heart.

After that spice nothing better than something sweet to calm one’s mouth down. That’s when Eats and Treats, Milwaukee’s first ever food truck to introduce the waffle dog comes to the rescue. Not only featuring such delight treats but also on board is another Milwaukee favorite, Purple Door Ice cream.

I’m telling you if it wasn’t for the wind it would have been perfect weather. But nothing better than warming up with a few of Horny Goats craft beers, or a bowl of Chicken Mulligatawny soup from the Simmer Truck, by far one of the most unique trucks, which actually used to be a school bus. A good taste of décor, plus tasty Panini ‘s such as the Mango Masala, kept the afternoon moving.

Other food trucks to join the party were; Kangaroostaurant, Hardwood Café, American Euros, Streetza-Pizza, Mr. BBQ, and Beef-E. So really, even the pickiest eaters found something to love.

If you missed out next time you see Capaul, the Marketing coordinator at Horny Goat calmly hint that you hope there is a second annual Taste MKE. Because I sure do hope so.
