It's a major renovation happening on the former Concordia College campus at 31st and State street.  After nearly 30 years of vacancy, the Forest Country Potawatomi tribe is repurposing the 11-acre site, rennovating the historic buildings and relocating its government offices.

The tribe is bringing innovation and economic development to a neighborhood that needs it badly.  Shown in the rendering above, the tribe is building a state-of-the-art data center at the site, according to Jeff Crawford, Potawatomi's Attorney General.  The space will house a remote, cloud server that business can use to store and access data from anywhere in the world.

"Where we're standing right now in practically the heart of Milwaukee is our treaty territory.  This is now trust land, so really in a lot of respects this us coming home after 170 years," Crawford said. "When we pull it all together you're going to see this neighborhood start to flourish - again."

The project is expected to wrap up in the next three to five years.
