Mother Falcon is an orchestral band born in Austin, Texas who play a combination of classical and folk with the aesthetics and mentality associated with indie music. They have received praise from the Austin Chronicle's critics many times over and, in November of 2009, they were featured in 101X's Homegrown Live concert showcasing Austin's finest up-and-coming bands. In February of 2010, they released their first EP "Still Life". At the 2010 and 2011 Austin Music Awards, Mother Falcon won the "Best None of The Above" award, and performed at the awards ceremonies. They also opened up the 2011 Fusebox Festival at the Seaholm Power Plant in Austin, Texas accompanied by 100 string players.
