San Fransico house master Claude VonStroke will be here in Miwaukee on December 20th, and I wanted to focus this episode of XFADER on his music and his style.  I became familiar with Claude Von Stroke in the mid 2000s.  Last year his album Urban Animal was one of my favorite electronic albums of 2013.  This mix is focused on the sounds and styles of Cladue Von Stroke.   Also known by his government name Barclay Crenshaw,  is one of the ne of the most well respected label owners and DJs in dance music.  He runs the San Francisco based Dirtybird and Mothership record labels.

International Learning Center

The International Learning Center at 25th and Wisconsin (formerly Indochinese Learning Center) has provided English as a Second Language instruction to over 5,000 African and Southeast Asian adult refugees in the Milwaukee area since 1981. They specialize in literacy and communication skills for refugees who have had little or no prior education in their own country.

Jordan Talks with DMC of Run DMC

We had a very special treat this morning on 88NINE.  Darryl McDaniel, better known as DMC of the legendary hip hop group Run DMC was on the phone this morning with Jordan.  He is in Milwaukee for the Buck's Sneaker Summit.   On Saturday, December 13th the Sneaker Summit will host a very special pre-game event with the Milwaukee Bucks before they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the BMO Harris Bradley Center including a performance by DMC.
