Lots of songs never make it to the radio that are getting lots of attention online. Live tracks, sanctioned and unsanctioned remixes, mash-ups, overlooked gems by unsigned artists. Every week on “Are You Feeling This,” we invite you to hear what the buzz is all about. You tell us what you think. Vote in the 'Are You Feeling This' poll, and leave a comment.
I just returned from SXSW in Austin and I heard and saw a lot of music. The music was overwhelming but amazing. This week's "Are You Feeling This" takes at look 4 artists that performed at SXSW and that I'm knew very little about but thought their music was very interesting.
First, we have an artist that spent some time in Manila, Philipines by the name of June Marieezy and I met at a showcase at SXSW. Followed by a band from Austin called Mother Falcon, who I caught perform at the Israel Beach Party at SXSW. Mother Falcon consists of over 20 members. From Cumberland, Maryland, the group Cotton Jones with their unique blend of psyhedelic soul and indie pop. Finally, out of New York, is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Kelly Pratt called Bright Moments. His song sound like there are 10 band members, but he recorded all the instruments on his debut release on Luaka Bop (same label as Milwaukee's Kings Go Forth).
Listen to all the songs and let us know which one you are feeling the most.
