We have been at SXSW in Austin for a couple of days, and we were looking for something interesting to do on Sunday. Luckily, we came across this unique Street Food Festival organized by a relatively new start-up called Foodspotting. Foodspotting is web and mobile app that helps people discover new dishes from anywhere in the world.
The Street Food Fest featured all kinds of vendors including Old School BBQ, which is a converted school bus that now serves tasty BBQ. There was also a truck that served chicken & waffles tacos. Then our favorite was Chilantro BBQ. They served some mouth-watering Korean BBQ tacos and burritos.
We found the co-founder of Foodspotting, Alexa Andrzejewski, and we talked to he about her start-up and why she decided to create such a unique business.
We also asked Alexa how can Milwaukee get involved in on all this "foodspotting". She said the best way is to create virtual guides of types of food that Milwaukee is known for.
So we created a guide for Milwaukee's famous Friday Fish Fries, which was curated by our listeners on our Facebook page.
You can check out the guide at http://radiomilwaukee.org/fishfry.
You can vote on your favorite and even add your suggestion to this guide. If you visit 5 of the restaurants, you will received the 88Nine Fish Fry badge.
88Nine RadioMilwaukee at SXSW is sponsored by Visit Milwaukee.
