I spent over 9 years in Minneapolis, and I have seen that city become a music scene that is respected around the world especially when it comes to hip hop thanks to a little old label called Rhymesayers. However, Minneapolis Doomtree collective is becoming a midwestern powerhouse with every release, and helping increase the status of the twin cities music scene. With their punk attitude, and DIY approach, Doomtree have created a nice little empire for themselves, and there is no sign of them slowing down.
Doomtree will be releasing their second crew record entitled "No Kings" next month, and they just dropped the single on the internet. The name of the track is called "The Grand Experiment." The song is definitely an anthem and represents the ethos of Doomtree. Take a listen and download the song below. (via Wired)
