Listen: For Day 35 of 50 of our Meet The Need campaign, we meet an organization I first became familiar with on my daily bike commute to the station -- on a fence between 13th and 14th and Vliet, hangers with all sorts of garments would periodically dot the fence. Nobody was watching, allowing anybody to help themselves to the clothing. It was Repairers of the Breach, a homeless-governed day shelter, providing its community of members a wide range of programs and services to address the obstacles homeless people face on their return to the mainstream.
President of their Board of Directors Roy Evans shares some reflections in these three pieces:
