Will Allen of Growing Power is having another great year. He recently, wrote a book, appeared on The Colbert Report and CNN. In addition to his role as founder of one of the most unique startups in the country, he also organizes a very unique conference. The 2nd National-International Urban & Small Farm Conference will be held September 7 - 9 in Milwaukee. The conference was first held in 2010, where close to 1,500 people took part in the event at the State Fair Grounds.
The conference was diverse in every sense. It included farmers, aspiring farmers, renewable energy experts, urban planners, corporate executives, politicians, academics, chefs, microbiologists, and people from countless other walks of life. It included folks from nearly every state in the union—and from several countries across the globe.
This year's conference will feature more sessions, speakers and close to double the participation from 2010. The sessions will be organzied by 17 different tracks such as Urban Aquaculture, Environmental Design Innovation, and Education.
For those who would like to attend, but do not have the financial means, there is a scholarship. Also a special guest from Washgington will be at the conference.
