I'm not a fan of reality shows, unless you count Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation. So, when I first heard that a reality show called Made In Milwaukee was to debut on the DIY network, I was skeptical. Then I found out the show was about the amazing Flux Design and my skepticism change to optimism.
For those who are not familiar of Flux Design, the custom design/build firm was founded by Jeremy Shamrowicz & Jesse Meyers, graduates of MIAD. Flux designs and produces custom furniture, sculptures, interiors, fixtures, and more. From their initial beginnings recycling found lumber and scrap metal to creating some of the most inspiring spaces in Milwaukee and the midwest, Flux Design is definitely a Milwaukee icon and institution. You can see some of there work around Milwaukee including at Pizza Shuttle, Garden Room, Moda 3, MiKeys, Smoke Shack and more. That might explain why DIY network thought it would be great idea to create a series featuring Flux Design.
The show is called 'Made In Milwaukee'. It takes the typical renovation show and puts an innovative twist on it. The show features Flux Design owner Jeremy Shamrowitz aka Sham and the rest of the Flux Design crew, who take on a variety residential projects that need serious style.
Made In Milwaukee debuts on Friday, January 4 on The DIY Network at 10pm (CST). The first episode is an overhaul of a basement.
If you don't have cable, you can catch a screening party this Friday night, January 4 at MiKey's, which begins at 9pm. Jeremy and Flux Design crew will be there too celebrate the premiere of their show.
