Got your Sunday Sound Travels recap here; lots to like in the mix. Mainly dance music on Sunday's mixtape. Started with a bit of rolling jungle from the Congo Natty crew and quickly served up some more of that Shangaan Electro from South Africa; really been digging those new releases out of Honest Jon's Records.
Moombahton, a new style of dance practically created by Dave Nada, moves the middle of the mix. Moombahton is a "new" style of sorts as I implied, but that said, it's inspiration comes from slowed down Dutch House with reggaeton beats tweakin that foundation. Good stuff from what I've heard. Lots of other great stuff to be heard in the mix, baile funk, and South African dance meshing with a bit of electro, cumbia nuevo and dancehall. I wanted a mix that encapsulates the newest dance sounds of the Afro-Latin world and I think I got there a little bit. Here are some details...
