This week, Sound Travels is going to be infringing on the style of another show: The 5 O'clock Shadow. Of course the music will still be global, but this week they'll all be covers of classic-to-well-known songs that were originally sung in English.
Today, we got at some fantastic covers for many styles, from Aretha Franklin to Black Sabbath, Nancy Sinatra to Sugarhill Gang. Spanish versions, Brazilian versions, instrumental cumbia covers and even American 60's garage-pop gets a fresh French kiss. And if you thought that was dope, consider a week of this and you'll have your own personal parallel universe party. Here's what we had today...
Los Quatro Monedas "Respeto"
Eileen "Ces Bottes Sont Fait Pour Marcher"
Miele "Melo do Tagarela"
Ondatropica "I Ron Man"
Senor Coconut "Sweet Dreams"
