Woodkid - Iron
There is some serious buzz about this artist. A music video director turned musician, Woodkid had directed music videos for artist like Katy Perry, Moby and Yelle. Woodkid recently released an EP which features the heavy cinematic and percussive tune "Iron." However, the video for the song is what is getting the major buzz. It is simply astonishingly beautiful and fits well with the heavy percussive song. It garnered over 100,000 view with in a couple of days.
Galapaghost - "Never Heard Nothin"
Galapaghost is the alias of singer/songwriter Casey Chandler. The very minimal track ,consisting of an ukulele and sparse keys, is from an EP entitled "Runnin". His voice sounds very similar to Jose Gonzalez. You can download the track for free.
Lee 'Scratch' Perry - "Higher Level" featuring Tunde Adebimpe from TV On The Radio
A few days ago, I wrote about the forthcoming documentary about reggae and dub legend Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Perry will also be releasing an album entitled "Rise Again" and new track appeared on Pitchfork the other day featuring TV On The Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe. Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - "Two Against One" featuring Jack White
One of the most anticipate releases of the year is "Rome", which is an album produced by Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi that pays homage to the classic Italian Film Score made famous by composer Ennio Morriocone. The album features vocalists Jack White (The White Stripes) and Norah Jones.
