Welcome to the first "Are You Feeling This". This is where we air songs that we are feeling or what you are feeling though RadioMilwaukee's "Hip Us to Something New" blog. Tonight, I played three songs. One of the songs was picked from the Hip Us to Something New" blog. So let us begin.

The first song is a recommendation from Susan from the Hip Us to Something New blog and is by a UK retro-soul artist by the name of James Hunter. He recently played at this year's Summerfest. His album The Hard Way is a throw-back to the old dirty soul of the 50's and 60's. Even the legendary New Orleans artist Allen Toussaint joins with him on a couple of tracks. He was nominated of a 2006 Grammy for his album "People Gonna Talk". Check out "Are You Feeling This" song called "Ain't Going Nowhere from his latest album "The Hard Way".

The next tune is from a Cleveland based MC by the name of Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi). He was featured in Rolling Stone’s Best of Rock issue in the Best Indie Hip Hop category along with Brother Ali, Wale, Cool Kids and others.

The Cleveland rapper with a killer sing-song flow got a major boost at South by Southwest, where he showed up higher-billed acts like Chromeo and Kid Sister.”

He recently dropped a free mixtape called "A Kid Name Cudi" which is available for download from his website.

The finaly artist for this week's Are You Feeling This is a duo out of the UK by the name of The Last Shadow Puppets. The Last Shadow Puppets is a collaboration between the Arctic Monkeys lead singer Alex Turner and The Rascals lead singer Miles Kane. Puppets. Their album "The Age of the Understatement" was nominated for the 2008 Mercury Prize. Listen to "Standing Next to Me" and let me know if you are feeling it.
