Two rockets from Gaza slammed into southern Israel Thursday morning during President Obama's visit of Jeruselum. Israeli police say no casualties were reported. Obama is on a four-day trip to Israel and the West Bank, his first since taking office.
The David Zucker and Robert Hays, director and star of the 1980 comedy hit "Airplane!" will be in Madison on Monday to unveil a new TV spot promoting Wisconsin as a tourism destination. The commercial was filmed last summer on Plum Lake in Sayner and is due to begin running in May in Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul, eastern Iowa and Milwaukee. Their appearance coincides with a statewide conference on tourism.
The city of Milwaukee is considering a $3.5 million tax financing package to boost Midtown Center on the city's northwest side. The fund would provide money for developer incentives and center improvements on the 56-acre site at 60th and Capital Drive. Midtown is the largest shopping center in the city of Milwaukee, but has faced some vacancies during the recession.
