US Sen. Herb Kohl announced the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded the Waukesha Workforce Development $1.02 million for it's YouthBuild program, which provides education and training for at-risk youth. Read about the great work coming out of this program here.
This weekend, The Third Ward Art Festival features 150 juried artists in a variety of mediums including painting, photography, jewelry, glass and more. Hands on art activities for kids, festival food and live music...all happening on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm daily.
America's Black Holocaust Museum has re-launched as a virtual museum. Reggie Jackson, a Milwaukee Public School teacher, is head curator and ABHM board chair. Future plans for re-opening the physical museum are in the works, but until them, museum information can be found online at A B H Museum dot org.
Hoovercraft, Milwaukee's Independent Art and Music faire, announced their September 1st application deadline this week for vendors. Taking place again this year at Sweetwater Organics on Saturday December 1st, Hoovercraft features indie crafters and artists that live in the city of Milwaukee.
