The faces of more than 6,500 American military members who died in the Middle East since 9/11 cover a wall at Mount Mary College in a powerful exhibit that opened Sunday called "Always Lost: A Meditation on War." Created in 2009 by students at Western Nevada College, the exhibit also includes Pulitzer Prize-winning photos of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and poems and portraits of U.S. veterans. It will be on display through Feb 16th.
Sprecher Brewing Co., known for it's root beer, has introduced an alcoholic version of it's beverage. The Hard Root Beer is an old-fashioned fermented root beer with 5 percent alcohol by volume, combining the characteristics of Sprecher Root Beer with bourbon and oak flavors.
Last night, at the 70th Annual Golden Globes, the nights big prize, best motion picture drama went to "Argo" a reality-based thriller about the rescue of American diplomats from Iran during its revolution. "Le Miserables" also won several awards. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted and from what I've read, the were really funny.
In Music news, Jack White's Third Man Records is launching an archival blues series. Jack's label is partnering with Document Records to reissue the complete works of blues legends Charley Patton, Blind Willie McTell and the Mississippi Sheiks. The records will be released later this month.
