The New York Stock Exchange will be shut down today in preparation Hurricane Sandy. The NYSE has only shut down twice before for weather- related emergencies....in 1985 for Hurricane Gloria  and 1969 when a snowstorm brought the exchange to a halt.

Milwaukee Zine Fest returns this Saturday to the Falcon Bowl in Riverwest, hosting authors showcasing a variety of zines from around the globe. Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School senior Derrick Hahn will perform his new work "A New Rising Dawn" on Thursday, Oct 4th at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Hahn will perform this piece with the Reagan Concert Band.

Starting Thursday, new drivers with a probationary license, a permit or new to the state with less than 3 years driving experience will not be allowed to talk on the phone while sitting behind the wheel. Drivers that don't follow these road rules will face fines of $20 to $100.
