Former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson won last nights GOP primary and starts his campaign today along with Madison Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin for a Senate seat in this November's election.

The Milwaukee Public Museum is adding a new digital 3D movie system to their planetarium and theater, thanks to a $1.6 million dollar gift from the Daniel M. Soref Charitable Trust. In addition, they have signed a deal with National Geographic to provide the nature and science film content for the theater. "Flying Monsters" a film that features winged dinosaurs will be the first movie shown when the 1st faze of upgrades are completed in October.  

Mayor Tom Barrett entered Milwaukee to compete in "TOURNAVATION", a competition organized by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's philanthropic foundation that challenges cities across America to find innovative solutions to problems, improve urban life and make city government work better. Inspired by her love of Milwaukee and history, English Teacher Anna Lardinois created Gothic Milwaukee, providing historical walking tours throughout the city.  Her latest offering, "Spooktacular Milwaukee" focuses on history and the possible hauntings of numerous Downtown buildings beginning and ending at cathedral Square.
