In an effort to increase jobs and manufacturing in Milwaukee, a Common Council committee will consider a proposed ordinance that would require the city to spend more than $30,000 on Milwaukee-made goods each year. If passed, it's estimated that 56 contracts could be affected. The current annual dollar value of those contracts is almost $11 million.
Toyota Motors announced a global recall of 7.43 million cars due to a power window problem that poses a fire risk. 2.5 million affected vehicles are in the U.S. The global recall includes a variety of models from multiple years.
The Cedarburg Artists' Guild presents the Covered Bridge Studio Tour October 12th - 14th. Artists in Cedarburg, Newburg, Port Washington, Grafton, Mequon and Thiensville open their personal studios for glimpses into their creative process. Artists will demonstrate painting, pottery, jewelry making, sculpting and more.
The Journey House is collecting gently used musical instruments for a new music program at their new location, 900 W Washington Street. Class scheduled will be based on the number of volunteers and instrument donations Journey House receives. Info on how you can get involved can be found here.
