Midwest BikeShare has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities, bringing them one step closer to installing shared bicycle kiosks in Milwaukee. Midwest BikeShare hopes to install 25 bike rental kiosks with 250 bike-share bikes throughout Milwaukee by July.

Lance Armstrong admitted to Oprah Winfrey during an interview taped yesterday that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career. For more than a decade, Armstrong denied using steroids as he was linked to a dozes other former cyclists who have admitted to doping.

The 5th Annual Icebreaker Indoor Marathon will be held Sunday at the Pettit National Ice Center. The track at the Pettit is 443 meters, making it the largest indoor running track in the U.S. The event includes a 5-K on Friday night, a half marathon on Saturday and a full marathon on Sunday.

Disinfecting Robots? Johns Hopkins Hospital is using robotic machines to saturate the air in sealed rooms with hydrogen peroxide, disinfecting all surfaces before converting the mist into water vapor. Researchers found that patients admitted to rooms disinfected by the robots were two-thirds less likely to pick up drug-resistant bacteria while in the hospital.
