Milwaukee County announced they plan to shut down the part of the Mental Health Complex for people with severe disabilities. The proposed closure would take place within three years, moving 116 people to community-based care with local and state approved individual care plans for each of the patients. Some have lived at the complex for decades.

The Milwaukee Art Museum and the Milwaukee County War Memorial reached an agreement regarding the ongoing management of the buildings and grounds they both occupy. They will continue to operate independently, although they will join forces on some programming and Veteran's events. The Art Museum will progress with it's $15 million renovation, and both will collaborate on a hybrid-engineering model supporting the separation of their mechanical systems.

The Water Council and the WI Economic Development Corp announced a seed accelerator program that will provide $50,000 grants to six water technology startups, covering startup costs like lab supplies and research and product development. The Global Freshwater Seed Accelerator program will give startups space in the Accelerator Building in Walker's Point and business model and operations training through UW-Whitewater's Institute for Water Business and monitoring from local water tech experts. The program is being promoted worldwide.

In Music news, Bob Dylan has been voted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters, making it the first time a rock musician has been chose for  the elite honor society. Officials at the Academy were unable to decide if Dylan belonged for his words or his music, so they inducted him as an honorary member. Founded in 1898, the Academy consists of 250 artists and openings are available upon a members's death.
