Wisconsin State Fair Park Officials are cracking down with a new rule: Any minor that comes to the park after 5 p.m. must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Despite the opening day fights that broke out, there’s still a lot happening at the fair grounds for everyone to enjoy. From rides, games, contests, music, and of course, food on a stick. Details are available at www.wistatefair.com.

Milwaukee Police Bicycle Patrols are hitting the streets. A total of 87 officers are now part of Police Chief Ed Flynn’s strategy to place more cops throughout the city. Officers ride through alleyways, behind apartment buildings and everywhere in between in order to prevent crime and to keep neighborhoods a bit safer. More information is at www.jsonline.com.

The Centering Pregnancy Program at the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center on Milwaukee’s south side is giving women a chance to prep for child birth. Music fans flocked to Chicago this past weekend for the one and only, Lollapalooza. Several artists and bands that we play here at Radio Milwaukee performed...such as Cee Lo Green, Fitz and The Tantrums, My Morning Jacket, Coldplay, Foster the People, and many more. Our very own Marcus Doucette was on hand to give his music play-by-play. Just stay on our page and read his blog posts for the weekend rundown.

Milwaukee College Prep School is staying busy this summer and it’s prepping for a big move. The school is opening two new campuses later this month. Milwaukee College Prep is constantly growing, and really focuses on diversity and an outstanding teaching staff. To find out more, check out http://www.jsonline.com/news/education/126225283.html.

No matter where you were in the city this past weekend, the Milwaukee Air and Water Show was pretty hard to miss. The event attracted thousands of people to Milwaukee’s Lakefront despite the rainy weather. People gathered at parks, on the beach and from their boats in order to see the jets in action. If you want specific information on the performers, visit http://www.milwaukeeairshow.com.

2. Learn how to play funk in one easy lesson.

Thanks Boots. I'll get right on that. It's incredibly easy, except for the part in beween the ones, which is impossible.

3. Rivers Cuomo loves covering great pop songs.

Pumped Up Kicks is the latest songs to get the Weezer treatment. Weezer has been covering Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and now, Foster the People.

4. Watch the Throne

5. Secret Soundtrack.
Susan knew the classic rock sounds from Bowie, Hendrix and The Kinks were the work of the Pirate Radio soundtrack. I was just happy they actually got the radio stuff right. Hoffman is excellent, even in so-so films.
