2,800 GE employees will show their commitment to local communities as they volunteer to lend their time and expertise today on projects at 20 Milwaukee and Waukesha Public Schools. The American Heart Association hosts "Red Hot Summer Night" today at 5:30pm at the Pritzlaff in Milwaukee. This fundraiser features small plate sampling, complimentary wine, music by Vivo, live art and an action. Event information can be found on our Facebook page.

The state Department of Natural Recourses has granted a $1.5 million dollar loan to Kenosha, helping pay costs of cleaning severely contaminated soil and groundwater at an abandoned Chrysler engine factory. The former engine plant, located a mile from Lake Michigan, closed in 2010.

The Miramar Theater has launched a campaign to help pay for the costs of much needed repairs to the roof, heating and air-conditioning systems. Established in 1913, this all-ages club is one of the East Side's oldest, live music venues.
