According to the Business Journal, Milwaukee Marriott developers are planning to build a 110-room hotel in the Park East, on the lot formerly occupied by Sidney Hih. The same developers are building the 200-room Marriott on Milwaukee Street around the corner from Wisconsin Avenue.

Milwaukee Public Theater is looking for performing artists with disabilities as they team up with VSA Arts of Wisconsin this October to present the 9th Annual Tap The Potential. Musicians, singers, dancers, storytellers, poets and visual artists are all paid for their work. The event was created to fight stereotypes about disabilities through performances and the arts.

Harvest Fair returns to State Fair Park this Friday through Sunday. New this year, Antique tractor display, a lumberjack show and kids sports camp and blacksmith demonstrations. Information can be found on our Facebook page.

Wisconsin farmers had a difficult year with the drought and hot weather. Apple orchards are producing less this fall, but pumpkin farmers across the state are reporting healthy crops with enough pumpkins to sell wholesale to Northern Illinois farmers.
