Starting on Monday, you can drop off your used cooking oil at Cream City Grecycling on Jones Island. For every gallon of used oil they receive from Monday to January 6th, they will donate $1 to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. The oil is processed onsite, then taken to Illinois and turned into biodiesel, which is returned to Milwaukee and sold locally. Details found on our Facebook page.
As reported by WUWM, Milwaukee Public Radio, agencies that serve the needy are seeing a decline in food donations this holiday season, some by 50%. The demand for emergency food is up nearly 20% from September to October. State aid for homeless shelters have been cut this year
A new designated driving service designed for people that live outside the city is becoming increasingly popular in areas that find it difficult to get a cab. MYdriver takes phone calls or online reservations. One person drives your car home while another person follows behind in a separate car and cost varies based on distance.
The Milwaukee Bucks are now offering a transportation service to all home games at the BMO Harris Bradley Center this season. The "Green Express" shuttle will pick up Bucks fans from two locations off of I-43, the park and rides off of Brown Deer Road and Port Washington Road across from Bayshore Mall.
