James Cromwell, the Oscar-nominated actor from "L.A. Confidential" and "Babe", was arrested Thursday morning at UW Madison after he staged a protest with PETA member Jeremy Beckham during a Board of Regents meeting, calling the university's research of cats torture, not science. They were taken by campus police officers to the Dane County Jail and will be charged with disorderly conduct. Cromwell, 73, has been working with PETA ever since the filming of the movie "Babe".

The Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin launch their first drive-thru cookie booth in the north parking lot of WI State Fair Park this weekend. Thousands of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies will be on hand as the booth is staffed by local Girl Scout Troops. The booth is open today from 6-9am and 3-6pm and Saturday from 7a-1p.

Long-term closures on I-43 begin Monday, Feb 11th and will remain in effect until Summerfest. There will be single-lane closures at night starting on Howard Ave to the Marquette Interchange. Ramp closures and updated information can be found on our Facebook page and at 511WI.gov

NASA is reporting a close-encounter of the rocky kind and it's set for February 15th, when an office-building-size asteroid will speed past earth closer than some communication satellites. This will be the nearest recorded encounter with a space rock so large, but there is no chance of an impact. At its closest, asteroid 2012 DA14 will pass about 17,000 miles above Earth.
