The United Way of Greater Milwaukee honors 5 community leaders tonight for their commitment to the Milwaukee Area.  The 2012 Philanthropic 5 Awards recognizes Milwaukeans in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's who give, advocate and volunteer for change throughout Greater Milwaukee's non-profit community. 

Delta Air Lines have reached an agreement to purchase the naming rights for Downtown Milwaukee's Frontier Airlines Center.  As of June, Delta has accounted for just over 21% of the business out of Mitchell International Airport.

On Saturday September 8th, the Urban Ecology Center will open its third facility in an old, renovated tavern at 3700 W. Pierce Street in the Menomonee Valley. Also scheduled for the end of August, the Urban Ecology Center, the Menomonee Valley Partners and their allies will break ground on a 24-acre field just east of the Hank Aaron State Trail, which will be turned into green space for the community.

Milwaukee Police confiscated a 5 foot, 70lb alligator from a south side home. Wally the Alligator is resting comfortably inside the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control shelter though the owners are already trying to get him back.
