Marvin Gaye gives Erick Sermon a soulful sample

This week on the 2 o'clock break, we are looking at samples with soul.  So I could think of no better option that a Marvin Gaye cut.  In 1982, Marvin Gaye recorded his final album MIDNIGHT LOVE.  This album had a funky 808 dance cut called "Turn On Some Music".

 

 

In 2001, Erick Sermon used the acapella of this track to create his slow-rider jam "Music".
