Sherman Park, Common Ground, and Milwaukee Rising/Neighborhood Project Week 4
Toni Wagner works with Common Ground of Southeastern Wisconsin, and she and her colleague, Kathleen Scott, explain the important work of Common Ground and Milwaukee Rising, two organizations that focus on foreclosure issues, education, and health insurance concerns (just to name a few). Milwaukee Rising is attempting to rehabilitate 100 homes in the Sherman Park neighborhood. I met with Toni, Kathleen, and a couple other of their colleagues at Sherman Perk to hear what they had to say about Common Ground's and Milwaukee Rising's work with Milwaukee in general and Sherman Park in particular.

What a great interview - clear, concise and very informational. I'm so glad you mentioned the other groups in Sherman Pk. who are working for their neighborhood. I believe that Milw. Rising can change the face of Milwaukee, one neighborhood at a time.17
Thank you for this interview. As a member of Common Ground through Gesu Parish, I applaud the work of the Foreclosure team. Milwauke Rising will be a tremendous assest to the Sherman Park neighborhood (I grew up on 58th & Locust very close to Sherman park).
Thanks 88.9 for the great story on Common Ground and other organizations and their work in Sherman Park. The Milwaukee Rising campaign is democracy at its best-ordinary people getting together with their neighbors to strengthen their community.
I always enjoy listening to 88.9's reports on Milwaukee neighborhoods!
