WISCONSIN AREA MUSIC INDUSTRY 2013 AWARDS SHOW
SET FOR APRIL 14 IN MILWAUKEE
MILWAUKEE, WI – The winners and nominees of the 33rd annual Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards will be saluted, alongside a remarkable slate of Hall of Fame honorees, at the upcoming Awards Show returning to Milwaukee April 14 at Turner Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the Awards Show beginning at 7 p.m.
A complete list of nominees will be posted at www.wamimusic.com after March 1. Tickets will be available for $24.99/adults and $15/students and on sale March 1. Special VIP packages available for $50/each, include a front and center table, two free cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres. James McMahon, the newly elected WAMI president comments, “We’re thrilled and honored to bring the WAMI Awards Show back to Milwaukee this year.”
In addition to presenting awards in 35 categories the show will feature a variety of live music performances and a salute to the Hall of Fame honorees. This year’s performers include The Jimmy’s, Sexy Ester, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, The Squeezettes, Klassik, Annex and De La Buena.
New to Milwaukee this year will be a one-night musical showcase spread across five live music venues in the city, “Downtown Alive,” on Saturday, April 13. Participating venues include Buckheads, German Beer Hall, Suite and Upper 90. A schedule will be released soon.
The Wisconsin Area Music Industry is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to educate and recognize the achievements and accomplishments of individuals in the Wisconsin music industry. The group also utilizes its funds to provide a Youth Music Showcase and provide scholarships to students and emerging artists.
