An intriguing jazz singer with sterling vocals, a passion for nuance, and a vision toward the future, Kat Calvosa is sure to delight listeners with her ability to convey a lyric, re-invent standards, and breathe new life into today's music with her signature style and insightful storytelling.
Based in New York, Kat has had the opportunity to work with such artists as Randy Ingram, Perry Smith, J.C. Sanford, Dave Cook, Jordan Perlson, Johnny Rodgers, Peter Eldridge, Jen Chapin, John Secada, and Raul Midon. Although modest, her performance resume includes such notable venues as Smalls, Cornelia Street Cafe, The Hot Jazz for Cool Nights Festival, and Festival Miami.
In 1999 she received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Muisc, where she studied voice with Peter Eldridge and Jackie Presti. In 2007, she completed her Masters of Music at The University of Miami, where she had the unique opportunity to assist Rey Sanchez in the building of the burgeoning Bruce Hornsby Creative American Music Program.
