The Milwaukee Children’s Choir (MCC) isn’t interested in the same old song and dance. On Saturday, April 2, more than 200 urban Milwaukee school children from MCC’s urban outreach program, and 100 more children representing 15 elementary schools, will join together with the singers of MCC at the seventh annual Roots & Wings Festival.

The daylong celebration, which combines singing, folk dancing and community service, will take place at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, 9700 W. Grantosa Dr., Milwaukee, WI. Admission is $5 at the door.

Over the years, Roots & Wings has become an established tradition in celebration of diversity. This year's featured guest artists Peter and Mary Alice Amidon will lead hundreds of urban and non-urban children in the festival's lively theme, "Let's Dance." Nationally known and widely respected, the Amidons are versatile performing, teaching, and recording artists who, for the past twenty years, have dedicated themselves to traditional song, dance and storytelling.
