“Reduce your carbon footprint and do it together!”
Transition Milwaukee (www.transitionmilwaukee.org) will host the fourth annual Power Down Week, a series of events held throughout the city designed to build community while using less energy. From July 7 through July 14, individuals and organizations will participate in things such as teaching a do-it-yourself skill, presenting an energy descent concept, holding a resilience related workshop, or throwing a neighborhood party, all relying less on fossil fuels.
The purpose of Power Down Week is to demonstrate ways Milwaukeeans can empower themselves beyond the use of fossil fuels. Workshops around the city will demonstrate, educate, and entertain in ways that will empower citizens to be more self-reliant. Interested persons can see a list of Power Down Week events, including a honey tasting, a permaculture yard tour, a contra dance, a tiny home workshop, activities for kids and families, potlucks and more at www.powerdownweek.com.
