The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is proud to present Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra cellist, Peter Thomas and pianist, Matthew Bergey, in the first of three concerts next Sunday, January 13th at 7pm.
Entitled ‘The Beethoven Cello Sonata Project’, Thomas and Bergey will perform two sonatas in each concert this spring completing the cello sonata cycle.
January 13th: Sonata No. 2 (G Minor) and Sonata No. 5 (D Major)
April 14th: Sonata No. 1 (F Major) and Sonata No. 4 (C Major)
June 23rd: Sonata for Horn/Cello (F Major) and Sonata No. 3 (A Major)
All concerts will be held at 7pm at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (1584 N. Prospect Ave, Milwaukee, WI) General Admission tickets are $10, Students/Seniors are $8.
Regarded as Milwaukee’s classical cross-over cellist, Peter Thomas has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra since 2008 and has gained much national acclaim performing the electric cello with his indie-rock band, I’m Not A Pilot. Also an active chamber musician, Thomas is the cellist of the Arcas Quartet and regularly performs alongside pianist, Matthew Bergey. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Bergey has performed as a soloist and collaborative artist throughout the US. He has also worked with the Florentine Opera, the Metropolitian Opera Singers, and was a former faculty member at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
