When you eat at Troop Cafe, you are getting more than a meal made with natural, locally sourced ingredients. You get a chance to help Milwaukee Veterans return to the workforce. From the front of the house to the food prep in the back, Troop Cafe is run by veterans.
Troop Cafe also serves as a training facility for veterans looking for jobs in the food service/hospitality industry. The money made by the cafe pays for veterans to take a 6-9 month training program in the culinary arts. Troop Cafe has been open less than a year and placed Vets in jobs at Harley Davidson, Holiday Inn and Outpost Natural Foods.
Troop Cafe is located on the corner of 35th and Wisconsin Avenue on the first floor of Veteran's Manor. They are for breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday 6:30am to 3pm. Catering services from box lunches to hot buffets are available. For more information, check out their website troopcafemke.com.
