All this week on the Seven O'Clock Sample we looked at A Tribe Called Quest's classic album People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
1990 was a great year for Hip Hop, and this album was at the epicenter of the movement. So many of the classic jams on this record still remain critical dance floor cuts.
Here are the songs we explored this week:
"Luck Of Lucien"
sampled "Forty Days" by Bill Brooks
"I Left My Wallet In El Segundo"
sampled "Funky" by the Chambers Brothers
sampled "Daylight" by RAMP
"Can I Kick It"
sampled "Walk On The Wild Side" by Lou Reed
"Description Of A Fool"
sampled "Running Away" by Roy Ayres.
