Kids learn Latin Dance with SalsaBrosa

Salsa Brosa Dance Company is a group of independent dance instructions that perform together throughout the community. They also use their shared passion for dance to give back and perform pro-bono for good causes throughout the city.

I caught up with Danny Balderas, instructor for Salsa Brosa, as he worked with kids at the Davis Boys and Girls Club on 24th and Rodgers. "I really love working with the kids. Helping the ones of Latino decent get more in touch with music that's a significant part of their culture." Balderas continues, "They perform at local Latin carnavals and parades. The clubs even compete against each other."

Balderas says that dance is a great way to not only keep kids moving, but it's an alternative to traditional sports. "It's still a team mentality. When you have a partner, you still want to look good together. They have to help each other."
