A new transportation service that started operating in Milwaukee Thursday is receiving some heat from local Alderman Bob Bauman. Uber, a private driving service that is accessed from a mobile app, operates in 70 cities around the world. Bauman has asked the city attorney to investigate the company to make sure they have proper licensing permits, similar to taxi cab requirements.
WI State Assembly unanimously approved a bill Thursday that limits child custody transfers of children to nonrelatives without going through government agencies. The bill on child placement is a response to a 2013 investigation that uncovered parents of adopted children setting up custody transfers through Yahoo and Facebook forums.
Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission has announced a first ever $14 adaption promotion for both dogs and cats scheduled for Valentine's Day weekend.
