Officials from the state Department of Natural Resources announced the use of logging equipment on private forest land caused the massive wildfire in northwest WI this week. The fire is fully contained, but not before it burned 8,131 acres in Douglas and Bayfield counties.

"Three Bridges Park", a 24-acre park that occupies a former rail yard east of Miller Park between the 27th and 35th street viaducts in the Menomonee Valley will open on July 20th. The park is the last of $25 million in projects for the valley that include extending the Hank Aaron State Trail and the new Urban Ecology Center.

Democratic Representative Gwen Moore from WI's 4th congressional district appeared this week on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Harley-Davidson, Milwaukee Brewers and Johnsonville sausages all got shout-outs, as did classic shows "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley". Gwen Moore was a great sport and played along with Colbert, riding on the back of his imaginary Harley as they were being chased by the police. Video found on our Facebook page.
