Mayor Tom Barrett announced Thursday the addition of three more neighborhoods to the city's Target Investment Neighborhood program. Pulaski Park on the south side, St. Joseph's on the west side and Martin Drive near Washington Park will receive city resources with the intent of increasing owner-occupied homes, raising property values and providing high-quality affordable rental housing.

University of WI System officials have released the names of the finalists vying to become he next system president. Candidates from Pennsylvania and Kentucky are competing with Raymond Cross, chancellor of the UW Colleges and Extension for the job. Finalists will be interviewed on Monday, by the Board of Regents selection committee.         

The Green Bay Packers report about 3,000 tickets are still available for the January 5th wild-card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers. The NFL has extended the sell-out deadline until today at 4 p.m. Selling out all the tickets would allow local markets in Milwaukee and Green Bay to air the game on television. Gov. Scott Walker's administration launched a website Thursday that lists expenditures by state agencies for more than six years, covering everything from routine purchases of fuel and office supplies to one-time spending for construction projects. The OpenBook Wisconsin website will eventually include copies of contracts, grant information and data on state employee salaries and fringe benefits.
