The regional task force that will be asked to offer options on the need for a new, multipurpose arena in Milwaukee, and whether there are ways to provide financial support for other cultural and entertainment institutions, has a name and a timetable. The Regional Cultural and Entertainment Capital Needs Task Force will announce it's members this week, will meet publicly in mid to late September to discuss if the BMO Harris Bradley Center needs to be replaced or retrofitted.
Jeff Gendelman, Whitefish Bay native and movie writer/producer is filming his latest project off the shores of Lake Michigan. The Surface, staring Sean Astin, Chris Mulkey and Mimi Rogers, takes place mostly on the water, making Lake Michigan its costar. The movie should be available in theaters in 2015.
As reported by the MBJ, Roundy's Inc. will have more access to produce grown at small WI farms under a new partnership through the "Something Special from WI" program. The Milwaukee company will offer fruits and vegetables starting today from the WI Food Hub Cooperative at it's WI stores.
The state Department of Natural Resources is relaxing a health advisory for the level of the metal molybdenum in drinking water. Prompted by a new analysis reducing risk of illness from exposure to the metal in groundwater, the revised news is expected to ease public fears of ill health effects and eliminate the need for expensive water treatment systems in hundreds of southeastern WI homes with private wells in Milwaukee Racine and Waukesha Counties
