One of the world's best-known companies wants to bring lots of jobs to Kenosha. Internet retailer Amazon.com wants to build a massive distribution center east of I-94, creating more than 1,000 full time jobs with benefits. Amazon intends on having the facility up and running by the fall of 2014.

A group of shipwreck hunters that found a sunken freighter off the coast of Marquette Michigan this spring has found a second one in Lake Superior. The 242-foot ship Scotiadoc, which sank after colliding with another freighter in 1953 and killing one person, was found in 850 feet of water near Thunder Bay, Ontario, possibly making it the deepest shipwreck ever found in the Great Lakes.

Americans James Rothman and Randy Schekman and German-born researcher Thomas Suedhof won the 2013 Nobel Prize in Medicine for discoveries on how hormones, enzymes and other key substances are transported within cells. These discoveries will help with treating diabetes and neurological and immunological disorders. Each Nobel Prize winner receives $1.2 million dollars.

Demolition contractors are expected to begin tearing down a deteriorating downtown Milwaukee parking structure today. The demolition of the building that housed former Firestone car shop on 6th and Wells is expected to take four months. No report of what will replace the structure on that property.
