After years of planning, the Les Paul exhibit opened to the public for the first time Sunday at the Waukesha County Museum. The Les Paul Experience features artifacts from the Waukesha native's personal collection.
The Milwaukee Air & Water Show announced that, due to budget cuts known as sequestration, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will not be featured in the show later this summer. However, former Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Jeff Cirillo and former Green Bay Packers running back Ahman Green will parachute onto Bradford Beach with the All Veteran Parachute Team.
Dozens of volunteers gathered at the corner of Fond du Lac Ave and Locust Street yesterday to create the latest in a line of public art projects scheduled along a 20 block stretch of Fond du Lac Ave. "A Common Denominator" designed by Reginald Baylor, is a graphic painting in the intersection depicting a child's toy train, carrying symbols important to the neighborhood issues, such as a padlock, a dollar sign and a red bell pepper symbolizing safety, money, and healthy food.
The Journal-Sentinel launched a new traffic report for smart phones. The report lists normal highway drive times and any delays reported. It's updated every two minutes. The report acts like an app but can be downloaded onto all kinds of smartphones. Info at mjstraffic.com.
