Milwaukee County is holding an open house to discuss a plan to add another beer garden to a Milwaukee park. The proposed beer garden at Humboldt Park Pavilion on Milwaukee's south side would be similar to the Estabrook Park Beer Garden, and run by St. Francis Brewery. The plan will be discussed on February 10th from 5pm to 7pm at the Humboldt Park Pavilion meeting room off Howell Avenue.

The U.S. Department of Justice will award more than $200,000 in Sexual Assault Services Program grants to seven agencies throughout Wisconsin in 2014. The SASP grants have been funding services provided to victims in WI since 2009, funding programs like 24-hour crisis response, personal advocacy, support groups and community outreach.

Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District will hold a public hearing on the Milwaukee-Shorewood disconnection of most residential roof downspouts to storm sewers under a proposed regulation to help reduce flows of rain water during extreme storms to reduce the risk of overflows and basement backups. Each downspout carries up to 12 gallons of rainwater a minute in a storm, and redirecting the flow of this water would help the district meet its goal of no sewer overflows by 2035. Info on the public hearing found online here.

Bon-Ton Stores Inc. is extending its lease for the Boston Store in The Shops of Grand Avenue with help from $1.2 million in city financial support. The city will get up to $300,00 a year for lease improvements, equipment and advertising and store promotion. In exchange, the company must keep 750 full-time employees in the downtown store and corporate offices. This agreement will continue until January 31st, 2018.
