The Boy Scouts of America approved a plan this week to accept gay Scouts but not gay Scout leaders. Of the roughly 1,400 voting members of the BSA's National Council who cast ballots, 61 percent supported the proposal drafted by the Executive Committee. The policy change takes effect Jan. 1st.

This year's Summer Soulstice Music Festival will take place on Saturday, June 22nd on Milwaukee's East Side. Performers include Kane Place Record Club, Hugh Bob and the Hustle, I'm Not A Pilot and De La Buena.

In a bipartisan vote, the State Legislature froze the tuition and tax dollars for the University of Wisconsin System for the next two years and delayed new flexibilities promised in the last state budget. The university is expected to fund several new initiatives from their cash reserves recently discovered by the state. The tuition freeze would be the first in the 42-year history of the UW System.
