The Obama administration declassified a new batch of National Security Agency documents on Monday, many of which deal with the effort to inform members of Congress about NSA programs that collect call data on nearly every U.S. telephone user. More info about this story can be found here.
Towns and villages in 18 counties across eastern and western WI have only a few weeks to decide if there are public safety reasons to prohibit rifle hunting for deer. The Department of Natural Resources declared in late September rifles will be allowed statewide for hunting deer, except where municipalities enact local restrictions. The 9-day gun season starts Nov. 23rd.
The Senate will soon vote on legislation to ban workplace discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender Americans The Employment Non-Discrimination Act will be brought to the Senate floor for a vote sometime during the next four weeks. The bill would extend workplace hiring and firing protections to the LGBT community that already apply to race, religion, gender, age and disability. Right now, discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity is still legal in 28 states.
