The government will reopen its doors today after Congress approved a bipartisan measure to end a 16-day partial shutdown. Early today, President Barack Obama singed the bill, which the house and Senate passed late Wednesday. The White House directed all agencies to reopen promptly as furloughed federal employees across the country are expected to return to work today.

Las Vegas is the test site of a pilot program by Enterprise Rent-a-Car to rent Harley Davidson motorcycles to the public. The launch of this program marks the first time a major car-rental company has ventured into the two-wheel market.  The fleet includes five models of Harleys, which can be rented by the day or week.

Milwaukee Democrat Jon Richards announced yesterday he would run in Wisconsin's first open attorney general's race since 2002. Richards, a member of the Assembly and the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee, has served in the Legislature since 1998.     

Federal agents found guns, drugs and lots of money during a drug-trafficking investigation along the North Shore. The DEA said three McDonald's restaurants, in Fox Point, Glendale and Mequon, were used to fund and promote a cross-country drug-trafficking ring. Six people are being charged, including the owner of the Glendale McDonalds.
